There is a rare opportunity to be taught by an Indian yoga master, Venkatesh from Mysore in India, today and tomorrow at the Hush Studios at l3 Herbert Place, Dublin.

Venkatesh started his yoga career at the age of 13 when his natural flexibility enabled him to master advanced poses with ease. Since then he has become known as the “backbend man” and though he can form his body into the most extreme shapes, his focus is on the spiritual, his teaching gentle and his workshops, which he conducts with his wife Hema, are open to all levels.

According to Jennifer Keegan who did a three-week general posture course at his workshop in India, he and his wife teach verbally, with no touching or adjusting with their hands and their instruction is individually tailored to each person. “It is a novel experience,” she says. The course will run from 9.30am until noon, and 2pm to 4pm today and tomorrow, and the cost is €160, or €90 for one day. Last-minute slots can be booked by telephoning 087-2853029 or 01-4537386.
