ENNISCRONE AGRICULTURAL SHOW

This annual show takes place tomorrow in

Co Mayo and features competition for sheep, horses and cattle, as well as arts and crafts, sheaf tossing, dog shows and cookery demonstrations. A model village will be on display and later a dance will be held in the Castlearms Hotel. Tel: 096 36890

CURRAGH RACECOURSE

The Curragh is offering free admission to all female racegoers on Sunday to coincide with the Moyglare Stud Stakes. A style competition with €5,000 in prizes from Newbridge Silverware will also be held, with the new Rose of Tralee due to make an appearance. General admission is €10/€5. curragh.ie

MEET THE MAKER

Etain Hickey collections in Clonakilty are inviting members of the public to join their craft workers tomorrow for a glass of summer punch and a chance to hear the secrets of their trade. The event takes place between 3.30pm and 5.30pm at Etain Hickey Collections and entry is free.

MODEL RAILWAY

An exhibition of model railways will be held in Knox Hall in Monkstown in Dublin tomorrow and Sunday from 11.30am and 12noon respectively. Admission is €3 for adults and €1.50 for children. Tel: 087 6400542

CLONMEL HERITAGE

This weekend, a range of events will be held in Clonmel as part of a celebration of the town’s medieval heritage. Tomorrow there are talks on conservation and traditional shop fronts, as well as a medieval banquet, while Sunday sees a traditional food and farming fair held all day. southtippheritage.ie

BLACKROCK CASTLE

An open day will be held at the Cork castle and observatory tomorrow in recognition of Heritage Week, starting with a lecture by John Collins at 11am and a tour of the castle towers. Admission between 11am and 1pm is free. bco.ie

GALWAY MARATHON LECTURE

A strong line-up of speakers are participating in a sports conference in Galway tomorrow as part of the Galway City Marathon programme. The theme of the evening will be “smart training for the distance runner” and speakers include Sonia O’Sullivan and Marcus O’Sullivan. Registration costs €25. galwaycitymarathon.com

MERRION SQUARE OPEN DAY

This annual event taking place tomorrow allows visitors celebrate Georgian Dublin in an informal manner, and includes free guided tours and expert talks. Chamber music will also be performed at the Pepper Canister Church at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 4pm.

TEMPLE STREET BEATS

A 1990s-themed fundraising disco takes place upstairs in McGrattans tomorrow night with all proceeds going towards the Temple Street Children’s Hospital. There will be a prize for the best costume, and tickets are €10 at the door. It starts at 9pm. Tel: 01 6618808

LEARNING EXPO

Dublin’s largest learning expo takes place this weekend in the RDS and is aimed at those interested in courses in recreational pursuits, general self-development or career progression.
