Working at Havana boutique in Donnybrook gave UCD economics graduate Rebecca Davis an invaluable head start when it came to setting up her own jewellery website, www.rebeccadavis.com.
After building up a strong customer base online, she recently opened her first shop in the Westbury Mall in Dublin 2, "so that shop and website can bounce off each other," she says. She stocks US designer Kenneth Jay Lane's costume jewellery, such as the ring pictured below (€79). She also shows a discerning eye sourcing pieces from the US, Paris, London, Greece and Ireland. Her selling point is that she chooses only one of each item, so each is unique. Prices are from €50 to €1,000.
