SAGGART: FROM €175,000:A NEW scheme of 25 townhouses and apartments launching tomorrow at Saggart village in west Dublin is designed primarily for the first-time buyers' market.

Developer Garyaron Homes has four types of homes in Slade Castle. Prices start at €175,000 for one-bed apartments with 41sq m (441sq ft). Two-bed apartments from €245,000 have 65-72sq m (700-775sq ft) including two double bedrooms, one en suite.

The three-bed duplexes are 109-114sq m (1,173-1,227sq ft) and cost from €299,000. One notable feature of this house type is the large main bedroom. Two-bed townhouses at 86sq m (926sq ft) are from €295,000 and have rear gardens. The first five purchasers are to have their homes furnished by Home Garden who is also responsible for the show units.

David Browne of HT Meagher O’Reilly New Homes, who is handling sales along with Kildare-based Conway Auctioneers, says visitors to the four show homes opening this weekend will be impressed by the scheme’s quality finishes and attractive layout.

Apart from its location within the village, the development also adjoins a new retail centre anchored by Dunnes Stores which trades alongside a number of other outlets, a medical centre, hairdressers, café and restaurant.

Kitchens and bathrooms are impressive. Floor and wall tiling are standard in kitchens, en suites and bathrooms. There is natural gas central heating in houses and duplexes and Gold Shield electrical storage heaters in apartments. All homes are wired for alarm, telephone, internet and TV while some units are also wired for a multi-room audio system. Saggart has easy access to a top class road network. It will also benefit greatly when the Luas red line is extended from the Red Cow to the nearby Citywest business campus.
