An Edwardian house in Monkstown with views of Dublin Bay, Albert Reynolds’s former home in D4 and a cottage in Dalkey are on view this weekend

In Blackrock, Savills has reduced the price of a detached house at 34 Stillorgan Grove to €950,000 to attract a buyer. Called Modeshill, the four-bedroom house, which dates from 1908, is in good decorative order with some potential to extend the 144sq m (1,550sq ft) further into the garage at the side. The layout includes a 27ft livingroom that runs from front to back of the house and features a modernist, marble-clad fireplace.

In Dalkey, Lisney is asking €375,000 for a cottage set in a cul de sac called Montevella, off Barnhill Road. The two-bedroom, double-fronted house has 92sq m (990sq ft) of living space, much of it given over to a 23ft reception room lit by a wide bay window. The house needs work, but there is some scope to extend, with a good-sized garden to the side.
