Dragon’s Den success story Grow Rings (071-9149479, growrings.ie), designed by IT Sligo creative design lecturer Dave Roberts and his business partner Martin Hendricken, is a flat-pack gardening system made from polypropylene and comes in plain, trellis and rock-effect finishes.

The novel design enables gardening enthusiasts to erect raised garden beds that can sit on any surface – concrete, grass or soil – in a matter of minutes. The ring (above) measures 84cm wide and is 24cm deep and normally costs €19.95 to buy.
