BARGAIN HUNTER:Tucked away in a hidden corner of the furniture department at Arnotts (01-8050400, arnotts.ie) on Henry Street is a selection of mainly Conran Shop oddments reduced to clear.

There are Jodi Filo chairs, with a strong chromed steel frame whose seat and back is made from strips of flexible but durable PVC that mould to the shape of the body to provide supreme comfort. The lightweight seat is stackable and reduced from €109 to €49 each.

There are Lady P dining chairs, a stackable seat that can be used indoors and out. Made from strong, recyclable polypropylene, there are two in black and four in stone. These are reduced from €119 to €69.

There is a red Conran Plank table, down from €749 to €349, and a Domino dining table with two extension leaves which was €2,819 and is reduced to €1,399. There are a couple of slimline butchers blocks (left), great for small kitchens, down from €369 to €179.

If you want to add drama to a bedroom, there's a lacquered Rococo-style Napoleon tallboy in orange, reduced from €4,499 to €1,999. There's also a statement Victor orange desk that has a tobacco-tinted oak frame, a glossy lacquered top and three soft-close drawers. It was €5,239 and is now €2,499.
