The spring Vintage Ireland Fashion and Décor Fair takes place this Sunday at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dún Laoghaire. A re-vamped 1970s tubular metal eight-arm chandelier (right) has been hand decorated with decoupage by Alicia McKeown of Alice at Home (086-3003644, aliceathome.com), one of the upcyclers at the show.
Based in Drumree, Co Meath, her furniture has a great graphic edge. This light has acrylic droplets and measures 88cm in height including chain (47cm without) and 61cm in diameter. It is seen here with clear glass 25 watt light bulbs. The first Bargain Hunter reader who presents today’s column can buy the fixture for €150 instead of its usual price, €250. Doors open 11.30am.
