It's a chair, it's a bed

The Interior Design and Art Fair opens today at the RDS and is a smart and time-saving way to explore what’s new in interiors as some of the country’s best suppliers will be in situ.

The Sofa Factory (Mill Street, Dublin 8 01 4546877 and Powerscourt House, Co Wicklow 01 2046904) is one such exhibitor and is launching its Otto sofa bed, perfect for homeowners who need extra sleeping space for friends or Spanish students. The armless design comes in two sizes: a compact single bed in the form of a chair, and a two-seat couch that forms a standard double. Both are designed for tight spaces such as converted bedrooms, offices, attics and garages. The made-to-order Otto comes in a high-rub chenile and in a selection of 35 colours. Buy the chair version for €833 instead of its usual RRP of €1,090, and the two-seat sofa for €950 instead of €1,249. These offers runs until June 13th.
