Square meals down at Kube

KUBE INTERIORS (01-297 3064) in Sandyford's Beacon South Quarter has a slick-looking dining set – a wenge stained oak leg table with thick opaque glass and clear frame top and six leatherette S-shaped dining chairs. The set used to cost €1,798 and has been reduced to €1,079.

Sink prices sinking

IRISH KITCHEN manufacturer Kitchen World (1850-363637) is offering a standard Belfast sink, complete with black granite worktop with hand-crafted, fluted draining detail reduced from

€1,599 to €999, a reduction of 38 per cent. This price does not include the tap pictured, which costs €143 but prices start from €60.

Kitchen World also has an appliance deal that includes an integrated dishwasher, fridge-freezer, ceramic hob, a multi-function single oven and extractor hood by either Zanussi or Teka for €1,475, reduced from €1,900.

These appliances have a five-year warranty. There is free delivery nationwide on both offers.

Hot kitchen at a cool cost

DROGHEDA-BASED Creative Kitchens (041-9803551) has 60 per cent off its Gaia model, an anthracite coloured painted solid wood kitchen by Italian company Cucine Lube. Normally priced €15,600 it is on offer, supplied and fitted, at €6,240.

This offer runs until December 24th and includes a Faber high output extractor fan, 50ml stainless steel worktop and backsplash, a Faber gas hob welded to the worktop, soft closing drawers, pull-out Lemans fittings in the corner unit, a bi-folding glass wall unit and integrated Gorenje fridge. This kitchen is suited to rooms approximately 4.2m by 2.4m but additional units can be added to the price.

Brilliant cuts at Diamond shops

DIAMOND LIVING in Sandyford (1850-450844) has a great lacquer, walnut and chrome sideboard. This was €2,559 and has been reduced to €1,405. Additionally, a smart walnut Elisir dining table with a chrome frame is down from €1,549 to €807; a matching leather Favola dining chair is down from €485 to €289 or opt for the Nova upholstered bench with back, which was €1,145 and is now €689. The bench without any back was €785 and is now €471. These come in cream, black, brown and white and are also at the Airside Retail Park or the Long Mile Road branches.

Bargains all around

SITTING PRETTY AT HALF PRICE

Minima at Herbert Place (01-6627894) and The Waterfront, Hanover Quay (01-6337716) has 50 per cent off a pair of cord-detail chairs with velvet seat pads and matching footstools by Roda, pioneers of the indoor/outdoor dual use.

The Harp chair with its chrome frame was €1,300 and these are now €650 each while the matching footstool was €1,100 and is now €550.

These are ex display and can be used inside and out.

WELCOME GUESTS

Keep guests feeling more like fresh flowers than stale fish with the addition of a sofa bed to your living space. Flanagans in Mount Merrion and Bray (01-2880218/01-2745405) has a two-seater Montana sofa with a sofa bed facility down from €1,495 to €695. It’s available in a variety of fabrics from cream damask, to florals and comes in two and three seaters.

Less than half price is a solid oak country kitchen set, a table and six chairs, down from €2,065 to €995 and there’s a Theodore Alexander solid mahogany, Spanish-style cocktail table, down from €1,495 to €495. The company has 15 of these so there’s plenty for any interested parties.

FAINT AT THE HALF-PRICE OFFER

At Thornby Hall, Naas (045-409400) a pair of Blanche D’Ivoire hand-painted French style day beds, also known as fainting couches and upholstered in biscuit-coloured linen, were €1,700 each and are now reduced to €850 each.

BED BUY FOR LESS

Patrick Collins Co in Belfast (048-9061 2717) has discounts of up to 50 per cent off across its entire Sealy range.

The Sealy Windermere as a plain set, is reduced from approximately €2,417 to €1,182 for a king-size (5ft wide). This bed is also available with four drawers in the base, reduced from €2,848 to €1,343.

PRICES OF CRYSTAL SHATTERED

The Kilkenny Shop on Dublin’s Nassau Street (01-6777066) has Waterford Crystal’s Siren collection reduced.

A set of four wine glasses was €170 and is now €100. This offer also applies to champagne flutes and whiskey tumblers.

John Rocha’s Lune collection, available in white wine glasses and champagne flutes, is down from €179 for four to €150.

Lounge lizards can lie low

ENJOY A more stylish sort of introspection on this Loy Ma daybed available at Paradise Lane (01-6799578) on Dublin’s South William St. Originally priced €1,850 it’s now reduced by 59 per cent to €750. The piece is set on a stainless steel frame and uses recycled PE (polyethylene) interwoven with hemp.

Sleep easy by saving money

TOP DRAWER (01-605 6666) has two lavish beds reduced to clear. For her there’s the Hermes bed by Cantori, which has ivory leather upholstery and a frame in gold or silver leaf. The king-size was €6,500 and is now €3,900. For him there’s a black lacquered half-poster bed by Italian firm So Glow, now reduced from €2,950 to €1,450. Both prices exclude a mattress. Mattresses start from €750. There’s also 30 per cent off Frette’s Hotel range and Ralph Lauren towels and bedlinen. And there’s 20 per cent off this season’s throws, cushions and towels – goose down mattress toppers are also reduced. The king size topper is down from €295 to €195.
