A 500-acre farm with an imposing Georgian house in the heart of the Golden Vale is bound to raise a good deal of interest when it goes to auction through joint agents Hamilton Osborne King and C. P. Kelly & Co on November 2nd. The property, Anne's Gift Farm, is named after the townland in which it is situated in Fethard, Co Tipperary. Also being sold on the same day is an adjacent parcel of 75 acres of land at Ballintemple. The agents are guiding £2.5 million for the house and farm, and £500,000 for the adjacent land.

The mid-18th century house requires some work. It has been lived in by the same German family for the past 40 years and they divided it into two.

The top floor is a very large self-contained apartment, while the ground floor and first floor make up a second apartment. There is a basement, but it has been disused for decades and will definitely require work. The house has been listed as being of architectural or historic interest and has a central bow front, which faces south-east and so enjoys views over Slievenamon and the Comeraghs.

At the back of the house, there is an enclosed courtyard, which is connected to the house by a passageway. In addition to this, there are several outbuildings.

Also on this property, halfway down the drive, is a dormer bungalow which was built about 20 years ago but was never finished internally.

Until recently, among the crops which the family cultivated were tulips. The flowers were grown for the export market.

The land is generally flat and there is pasture parkland around the house, as well as areas of mature woodland.

Interestingly, there are two protected ring forts within the parkland, one still in its original state.
