Douglas Newman Good is to open two further branches in the greater Dublin area this week, bringing its number of offices around the capital to 20 and its nationwide network to over 70.

This week it opened a new office in Newbridge, while yesterday the DNG sign went up on a new branch in Finglas.

Late last year the agency, which employs 100 people, opened branches in Swords and in Leixlip.

It now has a good spread of branches in the commuter belt of Naas, Newbridge, Celbridge, Kilcullen and Leixlip.

Meanwhile in south Dublin, a new branch of Lennox Estates is to open in the upmarket village of Dalkey.

Gordon Lennox, who broke away from Colliers Jackson-Stops 12 months ago to run the former Jackson-Stops office in Bray under his own banner, will open a second branch in Dalkey early next month.

Lennox Estates employs nine people in its Bray branch which covers both the town and a large area of north Wicklow.

The agency has a good presence in the affluent neighbourhoods of Delgany and Greystones where it sells new developments as well as second-hand houses.

It has also been involved in the sale of a number of sites in Wicklow.

With small three-bedroom houses in Dalkey costing anywhere between €650,000 and €1 million, and larger houses in the area selling for €2 million-plus, it's a potential gold mine for estate agents, though Lisney and Sherry FitzGerald get the lion's share of business. ...

The Sherry FitzGerald group, which has 10 offices in Dublin city, is planning to add a new branch in the Dublin suburbs in the first half of this year, while Gunne Residential is set to open an office in Dublin 8 and is also looking to expand into the lucrative Stillorgan/Dundrum neighbourhood.
