City centre apartment living from £144,950

While the initial launch in May of Derrynane Square on Dorset Street in Dublin's north inner city was sold off the plans, there will be showhouses on view for the second phase of 30 apartments and townhouses.

Close to both Drumcondra, O'Connell Street and the city centre, the development is also off the North Circular Road.

The £25 million (£31.7 million) Cosgrave development fronts onto Dorset Street and Innisfallen Parade and is designed to blend with the local 19th century architecture.

On sale through Hooke & MacDonald, there are 10 one-bed 460 sq ft apartments from £144,950 (€184,049), 18 two-bed apartments at 580 sq ft from £164,950 (€209,443) and two townhouses from £219,950 (€279,279) with two bedrooms plus a study.

The first private development of new homes and apartments on Dorset Street, the entire scheme will comprise 113 apartments and 26 townhouses built around two courtyards. It is due for completion in February next year.

Pedestrian access is from Dorset Street whereas vehicular access is through security gates off Inisfallen Parade.

Designed by Frank Elmes, the elevation and roof detail is Victorian in style. The apartments will be divided over three buildings - two three-storey blocks and one five-storey over a basement car- park.

The townhouses face onto Innisfallen Parade and Synnott Row. They have two bedrooms, a study, a bathroom, livingroom, private patio, kitchen, breakfastroom and a cloakroom,
