£600,000 Terenure semi has 1930s art deco features

Fortfield Park in Terenure is a wide, leafy road lined on both sides by solid bay-fronted semi-detached houses built in the late 1930s. Number 2, a four-bedroom family home, goes to auction on July 5th through Sherry FitzGerald with a guide price of £600,000.

The house comes to the market in good condition and with most of its period features intact. The windows, however, have been replaced with PVC ones, albeit with the original coloured, leaded-glass insets.

The hall door is sheltered from the elements by a glazed porch, a later addition. Inside, a sizeable square entrance hall gives an immediate feeling of space. On the left-hand side are the bay-windowed drawing room and the diningroom, a pleasant pair of rooms connected by wide doors that slide smoothly into the wall-cavity.
