Eight young fashion hearts will be beating faster on the evening of Friday April 25th. That's the date on which the winner of the 9th Persil Fashion Awards will be announced on RTÉ's Late Late Show.
It will also be a contest between two colleges as Limerick School of Art is fielding five candidates alongside three from the National College of Art & Design, of whom one is the only male contestant for the €10,000 booty. The brief this year is to design a size 12 summer outfit inspired by the 1980s, and the winning item will be manufactured and sold in Dunnes Stores, with the eight finalists' work going on display in selected outlets nationwide. Judges Paul Costelloe, Joanne Hynes and Dermot Colgan of Dunnes Stores shortlisted the eight from hundreds of entries.
