Fashion fighting famine is behind a forthcoming fundraising sale in aid of Concern's Save a Life in Ethiopia campaign, helping a country where 120,000 children are expected to die of hunger this summer.

Irish boutiques and wholesalers have donated stock and samples of clothes, bags, shoes, jewellery and even hats, many of which are one-off pieces. Customers will also receive a free goody bag including items such as Clarins day cream.

The organiser is Tara Corristine, who not only has seven years of experience and valuable contacts in the wholesale and retail trade, but has a personal interest in the cause. She was born in Ethiopia some 30 years ago when her parents, a doctor and nurse, were volunteering with Concern.

The event takes place in the Stillorgan Park Hotel on August 24th from 9am-6pm.
