At the Autumn Gift Home Show in the RDS in August, the winner of the Best Jewellery of the Show Award and the Best Product Award was Dorothy Corona of Corona Silver in Co Louth.

It was the first time a jewellery company has won this award, worth €5,000, in its 21-year history and was a fine tribute to the designer, whose showrooms are in a converted stable in a lovely Georgian courtyard in Corbollis in Readypenny near Dundalk, Co Louth.

The winning piece (right) is a studded metal bracelet with a centrepiece zirconia stone, which retails at €54.50 and has become a bestseller. It has a matching necklace at the same price, but the collection also features Swarovski-studded resin bracelets and necklaces made with beads and fabric roses at similar affordable prices.

Corona Silver is also available at Fitzgibbon’s, Rathfarnham Shopping Centre and Bijoux, Swords, Co Dublin. See www.coronasilver.ie for details.
