An artwork you can wear, that will make you smile too – and for only €40 (including postage and packing) – now that’s something to cheer us all up in these often gloomy times. David Godbold’s “You can’t stay miserable forever (however much you might like to . . .)” is screenprinted on to an organic cotton T-shirt, together with one of the artist’s masterful pen and ink drawings. Godbold is one of Ireland’s leading artists, with an international reputation, and the screenprinting is by Stoney Road Press.

The T-shirts are from Ali Hewson’s not-for-profit fairtrade company EdunLive, so how can you go wrong? Available in sizes small to extra large, they’re in a limited edition of just 125. Stoney Road is also launching a boxed set of six intaglio Godbold prints, so you can revel in a whole series of the artist’s drawing and irreverent wit. Prices from €700 to €4,500 for the set (in a specially designed box). See stoneyroadpress.com.
