CLOTHES LINES:Boudoir is a little gem of a shop tucked away on Pembroke Lane in Ballsbridge, decorated with French and Italian period furniture and selling an appealing array of jewellery, gifts and assorted accessories.

Owner Celine Conan is a French designer who makes her own costume jewellery with semi-precious stones, ceramics and silk, and who has assembled a selection of items from 30 designers from France, Italy, Denmark and the UK. Some of these are craftsmen who have worked with houses such as Lacroix and Kenzo. Along with trinkets and gifts, Conan stocks a selection of French speciality foods such as calissons (sweets), bonbons, macaroons, meringues and caramels, making visits a treat in every sense. See www.celinec.com, or the shop at 7 Pembroke Lane, off Waterloo Road, Dublin 4. Tel: 01-6689886.
