ON THE ROAD:Talented stylist Lauren McCreery, responsible for many fashion features in this magazine, left Dublin a year ago to pursue a career in London working for Net-a-porter.

Now she has become head of a new fashion website called Atterley Road and already Ireland is third in the number of visitor country rankings. The site brings together high-street favourites like Hobbs and Whistles (useful for Irish customers not in the Dublin region) as well as carefully selected European brands such as Iro from France and Malene Birger from Denmark. Founder Katie Starmer Smith, formerly a designer with Jigsaw, has created the sort of site she found lacking in others too big and over whelming to browse. Prices (still shown in sterling, but that will change) fill the gap between Asos and Net-a-porter and this appliqué crepe blouse by Pyrus, for example, is £117 and the cropped wool black trousers by Nicole Fahri £172. Fashion in the castle

Johnston Castle in Wexford, a magnificent example of Victorian revival architecture, will open its grand rooms for an inaugural fashion event on Sunday, September 16th, hosted by image consultant Marietta Doran for Wexford Chamber of Commerce.

Love Fashion Love Wexford will showcase a number of Irish and international labels stocked by 14 of the county’s leading boutiques like Ruby Rouge, French Connection Rosslare and Ottivia as well as bridal and menswear. Designer Synan O’Mahony and milliner Michael Leong will also be participating. Celtic Woman singer Róisín Dempsey and musicians will make a guest appearance and there will also be music by the Musix Factor String Duo. Tickets are €25 each and will include a raffle and can be bought from Wexford Chamber or any of the participating boutiques.
