TODAY The first all-Irish Evolution Music Festival takes place today at the Kilruddery Parklands, Bray, Co Wicklow. The main stage will be graced by Aslan, Hothouse Flowers, the Walls and the Blizzards, while two giant marquees host the cream of Ireland's hip-hop, jazz, blues and techno community. Beer is capped at €4 a pint, food comes from the big gravel pit BBQ and tickets are €42.50 plus booking fee. From noon to midnight.
TOMORROW The most successful Indian film to be released this Summer, Parineeta, has another showing tonight. Set in 1960s Calcutta, the film portrays the last days of the British Raj and is a classic family drama about "the moral virtue of an Indian married woman". MONDAY The arty set are all off to the Burren College of Art in Co Clare this week where the second annual exhibition of contemporary art is now open. The work of six innovative Irish artist - Gemma Browne, whose work, Twinkle, is pictured below, Diana Copperwhite, Mick O'Dea, Amy O'Riordain, David Quinn is on display from Mondays to Saturdays.
TUESDAY Another art exhibition, but this time for the charity OutReach Moldova. Trish Banks is a pyschospiritual psychologist and painter who is influenced by "her own spiritual practice and many masters of light including Turner and Renoir". Some 30 per cent of every sale from the Stepping Forward exhibition will go towards helping disabled, orphaned and abandoned children in Moldova. On show in Dún Laoghaire Co Council building, beside the town hall, until August 14th.
WEDNESDAY The popular Capital Comedy Club continues tonight upstairs in the Ha'penny Bridge Inn. Tonight's line-up includes Anne Gildea, Padraig Foz and Aidan Kane, with MC Simon O'Keeffe. Doors 9pm, tickets €7/€5.
THURSDAY The Roundstone Summerfest is as worthy as it is entertaining, with proceeds from the four-day festival going to the Lifeboats Service.
