A teenager has died after the car in which she was travelling crashed in Co Wicklow.
The incident occurred shortly before 5am on Sunday at Slaney Park, Baltinglass.
Gardaí said the passenger of the car, a teenage female, was pronounced dead and no other serious injuries were reported.
The driver of the car, a male in his teens, was arrested on suspicion of offences under the Road Traffic Act. He was detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and later released. Gardaí said investigations were ongoing and that a file would be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
In a statement on Sunday evening, An Garda Síochána said forensic investigators had completed an examination of the scene and the road at Slaney Park had reopened.
