Social networking is a tricky business. And keeping up to date with everything can be time-consuming, especially when you have more than one social network to keep up with. Twitter, Facebook, and now Google+ – with friends constantly updating, you might miss something important.

Summify is hoping to simplify that, giving a summary of the most important news on your Facebook or Twitter account, or condensing your Google Reader feeds into the top stories.

The iPhone app allows you to sign up for a Summify account and add some feeds.

You can choose to get a summary of a set number of stories every six hours or more frequently. It will even alert you when new summary is waiting, and a copy is emailed to your inbox if you want it.

You may still have to scour your newsfeed for those tucked- away bits of information about friends, but at least you won’t miss out on what people are talking about. Now, to get them to add a Google+ option . . .
