The Pacifics

We all know musicians like to flex their muscles, especially when they delve into an area that doesn't necessarily reflect their primary creative focus. Step forward in a frug/twist/ shimmy fashion, then, Stevie Appleby and Dylan Lynch (from Dublin band Little Green Cars), and Seán Goucher (who performs alongside Cian Nugent in The #1s). These – and the other member, Nick Appleby, formerly of The Mighty Atomics – have bunched together to pitch The Pacifics as the Irish 1960s beat group that time and smart threads forgot. In other words, if you're searching for a missing link between The Sonics, Hamburg- era Beatles, and various other high-energy RB bands that know the back catalogues of Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley inside out, then step inside, love. Mind you, there's nothing here you haven't heard before (Holly, Cash, Berry etc). myspace.com/pacificsdublin
