Homefronthad a lot of potential. It sets the scene from the very beginning, when the main character is forced onto a bus, travelling through a war zone and witnessing various atrocities. The action centres on an invasion into the US by a unified Korea. You quickly get caught up with the resistance, fighting the enemy on the streets and in the suburbs, among ordinary citizens who don't always want you there. Homefrontoffers an impressive level of detail in the surrounding events and in the destroyed townscape. But it's let down by a too-brief campaign and out-of- whack AI. As a multiplayer game, it doesn't offer anything new in terms of online action, but allows you to earn battle points for upgrading weapons and equipment. This redeems Homefrontenough to make it an option for FPS fans, but it still pales in comparison to others of the genre.
