Casting for Wuthering reboot

Intriguing news arrives from Andrea Arnold’s upcoming production of Wuthering Heights

Intriguing news arrives from Andrea Arnold's upcoming production of Wuthering Heights. It seems that Arnold, director of Fish Tankand Red Road, has cast a black actor in the role of Heathcliff. James Howson, a largely unknown Yorkshireman, will play opposite Kaya Scodelario, best known for Skins, in Arnold's radical retelling of Emily Brontë's novel.

Just 18, Scodlerario is closer in age to the novel’s Kathy, the desperate protagonist, than most other actors who have taken the role. Both Merle Oberon and Juliette Binoche were closing in on 30 when they took the role.
