Beeb to chronicle unholy row

REELNEWS: The BBC seems to have an obsession with dramatising the lives of post-war comics

REELNEWS:The BBC seems to have an obsession with dramatising the lives of post-war comics. In recent years we have seen TV movies based on the travails of Frankie Howerd, Kenneth Williams, Hattie Jacques and Tony Hancock, to name but a few.

Now the corporation is planning a drama based around the Monty Python team's struggles with the authorities while making Life of Brian. Holy Flying Circuswill be written by Tony Roche, a co-writer on The Thick of It, and is scheduled to air this autumn.

Who will play Malcolm Muggeridge, we wonder. Jim Broadbent sounds ideal.
