Yeats strikes the keynote for a huge international exhibition and series of events curated by Jota Castro and Christian Viveros-Fauné, centring on the terrific venue of Earlsfort Terrace, with a sculpture park in the Iveagh Gardens, and featuring some 90 artists from all over the world, including more than 30 from Ireland.
The curators hope to connect with the widest possible public and there will be plenty to see, and think about. There are some spectacular installations and outstanding examples of just about every visual arts activity imaginable (among them Brian Duggan's This Short Term Evacuation, Pripyat, Chernobyl, 30km Zone, above). There's even an audio-art enclave in the adjoining Real Tennis Court building.
Other venues with inviting programmes include the Douglas Hyde Gallery (Alice Neel), the Royal Hibernian Academy (Lisa Yuskavage), the Hugh Lane (Willie Doherty) and the National Gallery of Ireland (Brian O’Doherty).
