Pier pressure

A poem by Hugo Gallagher, age 14, Meánscoil Gharman, Inis Córthaidh, Loch Gharmáin

They stand in front.
They jump.
Then scream and disappear.
My feet twitching.
Heart exploding.
I look around and
then glance down.
The sheer pier looming
My head zooming.
I gulp.
Wind rushing around me
My arms flailing
I gasp.
and smile.
Splash!
