Remember when we were told nobody wants a stylus? Not so, according to Samsung. The company is banking on at least a few people out there wanting to revert to the old way of doing things, with its Galaxy Note.

Somewhere between a phone and a tablet, the Note has a 5.3-inch super Amoled display. This means it’s slightly cumbersome to use as a phone but functions fine as a compact mini tablet with a sharp, crisp screen. It also sneaks in the S Pen, a stylus that allows you to take memos, sketch drawings, or just save your fingers from the endless smartphone tapping. On the inside, it has a 1.4ghz dual core processor, so it zips through tasks.

Sony 3D viewer

Unveiled at CES last year, Sony’s personal 3D viewer certainly got everyone talking. The visor gives you your own 3D screen, with twin OLED screens on the inside, so you can watch in private and really immerse yourself in a film, TV show or even game. It looks a bit daunting at first. It attaches to your head by a slightly complicated arrangement of straps, and a forehead rest. Get it even slightly wrong and the device will rest heavily on your nose; get it right and you’ll almost forget it’s there. The headphones are built in to the visor, and since it covers your eyes almost completely, you really can forget about the outside world.
