After a gap of about 20 years, British Airways is once again set to fly from Dublin to Heathrow. This follows its takeover of rival BMI, which operates six return flights daily between the airports. It will be interesting to see what impact this will have for Aer Lingus, which feeds connecting traffic into BA’s hub at Heathrow as part of a code-sharing deal.

Celebrity chef Darina Allen’s cookery school in Shanagarry, Co Cork, appears to have found the right recipe for the recession.
Latest abridged accounts for Ballymaloe Cookery School Ltd, which boasts of having its own 100-acre organic farm, show that its accumulated profits rose to a tasty €1.78 million in the 12 months to the end of August 2011, from €1.53 million a year earlier.
