Aer Lingus has reshuffled its management team with the creation of four new senior roles.

Dick Butler, the airline's ground operations director, will retire next summer with his responsibilities being split in two. A new position of operations director has been created with Peter O'Neill taking responsibility for flight operations, planning and productivity.

Responsibility for airport management and security will be assumed by deputy chief executive Niall Walsh. Commercial director Enda Corneille will take over as head of corporate affairs. Stephen Kavanagh has been put in charge of corporate planning, which replaces the role of planning director. Aer Lingus has also appointed David Manifold as deputy finance director.
