Lisa Fallon swaps Galway United for role with Fifa

Lisa Fallon has parted ways with Galway United, where she worked this season as head coach of the men's first team, to take up a role in Fifa's high performance department.

"I have loved every minute of my time working for this football club and I know there is huge passion and drive that will to bring Galway United back to the Premier Division," said Fallon, who previously coached Chelsea women, Northern Ireland, Cork City and worked with the Dublin football panel under Jim Gavin.

“We’re very disappointed that we didn’t achieve that goal this season, despite finishing second, but so much great work has been done by so many people this year and I have no doubt the club has everything it needs to get back to where it belongs.”

Fallon, who joins Fifa in a technical coaching capacity, also writes a football column for The Irish Times every Friday.
