Roddy Collins has been appointed as the new manager of Derry City, succeeding Declan Devine who left the club by 'mutual consent' at the end of last month.

Collins, who guided Athlone Town to the Premier Division last season, will bring in former Candystripes captain Peter Hutton as his assistant.

The 52-year-old, a former Bohemians, Carlisle United and Shamrock Rovers manager among others, had been linked with the club in recent weeks and agreed a one-year deal over the weekend.
