Bank of Ireland building

Sir, – Before the Minister for Finance sells off our remaining shares in the Bank of Ireland he should secure the transfer of the former Irish parliament buildings on College Green for the State.

This should have been done at the time of the original bailout but like so much else was funked. It is not too late. The ideas for future use of the building are legion but could include a Museum of Dublin, an extension to Trinity College, an Institute of Dublin Affairs and much more. Quite simply the bank owes it to us. – Yours, etc,
