Olive oil on tap

Brod and Caroline Kearon are the proprietors of Nature's Gold health food shop in Greystones. Eight years ago, they bought a small property in Catalonia featured in The Irish Timesproperty supplement.

On arrival they found a grove of 250 olive trees, which they now harvest by hand each year. The Sevillenca and Morrut olives are farmed traditionally, without the use of herbicides or insecticides. The oil is a lovely rich mouthful with light grassy notes, and a very subtle peppery note on the finish. A 500ml bottle of Nature’s Gold EV Olive Oil costs €10.95, or less if you bring in your own bottle for filling.
