Auction Results: Wednesday (July 15th) Mealy’s, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny

(71 per cent of lots sold). A 28in-high bronze figure of Michael Collins €5,250 (€1,500-€2,500); a steel suit of armour €1,900 (€1,800-€2,500); Two Monks in an Interior, oil on canvas, by Otto Schwerdgeburth €1,700 (€1,800 - €2,500); an enamel sign for Black Cat cigarettes €800 (€800-€1,200); a Gunter's land-measuring chain €360 (€400-€700); a South American bird feather fan with taxidermy hummingbird €60 (€50-€70). A rare 19th-century Spanish fan, Los Toros, depicting matadors and bullfighting scenes, estimated at €100-€200, failed to sell.
