Fifteen-year-old Thomas Kearney shot a best-ofthe-day 72, one over par, to win the under-16s class in the Ballyliffin Open Youth Tournament over the Old Links last week. Kearney's score left him eight shots clear of Brian McGrath from Letterkenny with Paul McCarthy from City of Derry third on 83. The under-21 title went to Andrew Campbell from Gracehill with 79: he won by two shots from Kevin Murphy from Buncrana.

Brian McElhinney from North West won the under-18 section. The three handicap shot a three-over-par 74 - eight shots clear of David McCready (Ballyliffin) with Barry Houston (Letterkenny) taking third place.
