FBD FOOTBALL LEAGUE: Leitrim 1-11 GMIT 0-7A GOAL on the stroke of half-time from Alan Wynne helped Leitrim to a deserved win over GMIT at the new pitch in Strokestown.

Wynne’s goal and points from Ray Cox (two), James Glancy (two frees) and Colm Clarke helped Leitrim lead 1-5 to 0-3 at the interval.

Johnny Ryan (two) and Niall Prenty replied with points for GMIT. Ryan reduced the deficit after the break with a free, but Leitrim took control and Glancy (three), Gerry Hickey (two) and Paddy McGowan all registered points as they surged to victory.
