Tiger Woods, who has won a remarkable 29 titles in just six years on the US Tour, will share some of his private thoughts on the game later this month with the publication of his first instructional book.
Woods, who became the first player to hold all four majors at one time with his triumph in the US Masters earlier this year, will reveal "the five secrets to his amazing success", according to his website.
The first authorised instructional book written by Woods will be on sale from next week; it will be no surprise if the book sets one or two publishing records of its own.
"While his explosive drives, accurate approach shots and steady putter certainly contribute to (his) success, both fans and critics agree that it's Tiger's devastating mental game that has propelled him to become the premier golfer of our time," his website has said.
"Now Tiger shares his thoughts on what he calls the game of a lifetime. He reveals the five secrets he believes are responsible for his success:- a combination of physical, metaphysical and psychological practices he uses daily to keep his game in top shape and help him to transcend all the ups and downs of golf."
But there can be no guarantees that reading How I Play Golf by Tiger Woods will translate into immediate success for the average club hacker.
After all, Woods shot 48 for nine holes at the age of three and, after turning professional at the 1996 Greater Milwaukee Open, he proceeded to win twice and produce three more top-10 finishes in his next seven starts.
