IRELAND rugby international hooker Keith Wood has signed a contract with English League Division One club Harlequins. Wood's name has been linked with the London club for some months. Wood's decision follows last weekend's announcement by the IRFU of a lucrative package aimed at keeping Irish players at home next season.
Wood has not played any rugby this season after undergoing a shoulder operation following the World Cup in South Africa last summer. He has, however, been assured that the recurring shoulder problems he has endured have now been rectified. Wood made his international debut against Australia in Brisbane in 1994 and has been capped on six occasions.
.The Division Four All Ireland League match between Dublin University and Corinthians, scheduled for College Park tomorrow, has been postponed. Trinity agreed to Corinthians' request for the postponement because of a bereavement.
