NORMAN WILLIAMSON will make a comeback from his latest injury setback when partnering Cyrus The Great for Kim Bailey at Newbury today.

The luckless jockey, on the side lines since breaking his right leg in a fall at Sedgefield in October, made an unsuccessful return to race riding in Britain in the Tote Gold Trophy at Newbury on February 10th.

Given the leg up on Eskimo Nel for John Spearing, the Corkman suffered a dislocated right shoulder when taking a crashing fall at the fifth flight of hurdles. Now he hopes to put his injury woes behind him as he prepares himself for the Cheltenham Festival.

Williamson, who rides Cyrus The Great in the closing Highclere Juvenile Novices' Hurdle, said: "I saw the specialist in Reading last night and he was happy for me to return. "If the shoulder comes out again, I will have to be operated on, but I'll just be trying to stay off the ground.

I'm just having one ride, and I might have a couple on Saturday. We'll just have to see how I get on. "But I feel a lot better and have been riding out at Kim Bailey's during the last week."
