Club Career: The left-winger began his career as an apprentice at Millwall, joining Bobby Robson's Ipswich Town when he was 19 for £250,000 (a then record transfer fee for Ipswich) in January 1980. Stayed five years at Portman Road, making 147 appearances for the club, before joining Portsmouth, for £90,000, in March 1985. Two seasons later he rejoined Millwall and he finished his league career with Southend, playing his final game in November 1992.

International Career: Capped at youth and under-21 level before being given his senior debut by Eoin Hand in 1981 in a 3-1 home win over Czechoslovakia. Went on to win 21 caps (10 as sub) over the next six years, his appearances limited by Tony Galvin's spell as first choice left winger in the same period. Had perhaps his finest game in an Irish jersey against Spain (1982 European Championship qualifier) when he set up Frank Stapleton to equalise in a 3-3 draw.

Where Is He Now? After a spell coaching in non-league football O'Callaghan returned to Millwall for his second spell as their youth team coach in September of last year. He now manages the club's Under-19 and Under-17 teams in the Academy League.
