WEXFORD strolled through to a league quarter final place with a very emphatic routing of Meath in a one sided Division Two clash at Trim.
Meath caused a big shock when winning the corresponding game last year, but this time there was never any hint of a similar result.
Tom Dempsey struck the first goal after seven minutes following a Mark Gannon save from Larry Murphy. Wexford missed few scoring chances and had the points safely in the bag when ahead by 1-15 to 0-3 at the interval.
Meath failed to make any inroads on the deficit in the second half a Wexford started strongly again with three early points followed by a goal from Adrian Fenlon 12 minutes after the resumption. Ray Dorran grabbed a consolation goal for the home side three minutes later.
