NEXT WEEK’S high-profile meeting at Wetherby has received the all-clear with the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) issuing a positive review of the track. The course has come in for criticism over the past 12 months, especially after four equine fatalities at the first meeting of the season on October 14th.
The BHA has reviewed a number of reports on the course as well as commissioning a leading firm of sports turf agronomists, Professional Sportsturf Design, who visited the track and were pleased with its condition.
After further discussions with the RSPCA, National Trainers Federation and Professional Jockeys Association, the authority has given the go-ahead to next week’s racing, with the two-day Charlie Hall Chase fixture taking centre stage next Friday and Saturday.
