All the action in hurling and football today and tomorrow

Today

Waterford SHC Final (replay)

Ballygunner v Lismore, Walsh Park, 4pm– The fantastic drawn final ended fairly, with Ballygunner slightly the more relieved as Paul Flynn levelled the tie at the end.

Lismore showed some excellent touches to make the early running and some steel to recover when it looked like the initiative was lost. The feeling, though, is that the Gunners might have been brought on a bit more by the match.

Limerick SFC Final (re-fixture) Dromcollogher-Broadford v Fr Casey’s, Gaelic Grounds, 4.30pm – The dire scenes as the teams had to wait half an hour for Casey’s’ Thomas Cahill to be taken to hospital with a broken leg led to the postponement. Drom- Broadford’s experience could be the telling factor in what have become difficult circumstances.

Tomorrow

Armagh SFC Final

Armagh Harps v Pearse Óg, Athletic Grounds, 2pm– The fall of Crossmaglen means there will be new champions for the first time since 1995. Although Harps have a steady unit with Tyrone All-Ireland winner Collie Holmes and Armagh's Charlie Vernon the best known, Pearse Óg, backboned by the Clarke brothers, had been closest to breaking Cross's grip on the county in recent years and finally did so this season. They won't want to slip up now.

Dublin SFC Final

Ballyboden St Enda's v St Jude's, Parnell Park, 4pm– An indicator of how unexpected this pairing was at the start of the season is that Boylesports quoted the teams as seventh and eighth respectively in the betting lists last April.

Only Conal Keaney of tomorrow’s line-up was a starter for the county this summer. Ballyboden are at the disadvantage of having had to play the final chapter of their three-match epic against the All-Ireland champions Kilmacud only last Tuesday. As well as Keaney, Ballyboden have Michael MacAuley and former Galway player Ken Naughton in good form but overall Jude’s look a stronger unit, maybe with fewer sparkles but also fewer weaknesses.

Tyrone SFC Final

Ardboe v Dromore, Omagh, 4pm– Ardboe, with four McGuigans on board as well as Kyle Coney, will pose a stiffer than expected challenge to Dromore, a club that has consistently challenged this decade to an extent unreflected in the meagre haul of one title, two years ago.

Although Ardboe have a great deal of class up front, the favourites have come through a more arduous track, racking up replay wins over Coalisland and Errigan Ciarán before beating Carrickmore in the semi-finals. They have the cohesion and experience to land a second title.

Offaly SHC Final

Tullamore v Kilcormac- Killoughey, O'Connor Park, 3.30pm– Two All-Ireland winning team-mates come up against each other tomorrow with Johnny Pilkington managing Kilcormac- Killoughey to a surprise win over Coolderry and Kevin Martin in charge of the Tullamore side that shocked perennial champions Birr. Kilcormac-Killoughey to win.

Tipperary SHC Final

Drom and Inch v Thurles Sarsfields, Semple Stadium, 3.30pm– The town side are favourites, but Drom are unbeaten this season and have in Séamus Callanan the top performer in the championship.

Sarsfields too have big-name players with All Stars Lar Corbett and Pádraic Maher and a good deal of experience. Pa Bourke is playing well for them, but Drom ’n Inch, although outsiders, have been more impressive as a unit and can upset expectations.

Carlow SFC Final

Rathvilly v Old Leighlin, Dr Cullen Park, 3.45pm– Rathvilly, with Brendan Murphy just home from Sydney and turning in a formidable semi-final performance, will be favourites to win a first title in five years against Old Leighlin featuring the indefatigable Johnny Nevin and hoping to bridge a 12-year gap.

Kildare SFC Final

Moorefield v St Laurences, Newbridge, 3.30pm– St Laurences' dramatic replay victory over holders Celbridge hasn't done anything to upset expectations in the county. Moorefield, Leinster champions three years ago, slipped up in Kildare last season, but have been expected to scorch the earth this time around in the drive to regain the title. They go into this weekend's final as hot favourites.

Wicklow SHC Final

Glenealy v Carnew Emmets, Aughrim, 3.30pm– The county's governing duopoly arrive in another final with Glenealy favoured to record a third win on the trot and a fifth this decade.

Laois SFC Final

Arles Kilcruise v Portlaoise, O'Moore Park, 3.30pm– Arles Kilcruise upset their neighbours Arles Killeen in the semi-finals to put themselves on track for a first county title in six years. Captained by Chris Conway and featuring Ross Munnelly, they are still rank outsiders against the powerful champions, aiming for a third successive title.

Kerry SFC Semi-finals

South Kerry v Austin Stacks, 2pm; Dr Crokes v Feale Rangers, 3.45, both Tralee– It was Noel Kennelly rather than new All Star Tadhg that stole the show in the quarter-final for Feale to set up the interesting semi-final against Dr Crokes for whom Colm Cooper scored 3-7 and the Killarney side are slightly preferred despite the odds. In the other semi-final, South Kerry are likely to have too much for Stacks.

Meath SFC Semi-final (replay)

Navan O'Mahony's v Wolfe Tones, Páirc Tailteann, 3.30pm– Meath football has got into another of the metaphysical disputes that occasionally arise in its club competitions – this time over whether a red card administered in disputed extra-time should result in suspension for Wolfe Tones' Stephen Corrigan. Holders O'Mahony's are still persecuted by injuries and the challengers can take advantage on all fronts.

Limerick SHC Final

Adare v Na Piarsaigh, Gaelic Grounds, 3.30pm– Adare are on a three-in-a-row whereas the city club have created great excitement by reaching their first county final.

Na Piarsaigh have a sharper edge up front and with Adare maybe not firing as fully this season, the sequence of low-scoring finals could be disrupted with a surprise outcome.

Galway SFC Final (replay)

Corofin v Mountbellew- Moylough, Tuam, 3.45pm– Connacht champions Corofin were undone by the old failings in attack, which were exacerbated when Alan O'Donovan had to off injured.

Their defence however coped efficiently with Mountbellews’ small forwards.

Joe Bergin’s equaliser brings the teams back, but the champions have greater room for improvement.

Galway SHC Semi-final

Mullagh v Loughrea, Athenry, 3.30pm– Mullagh took their time overcoming Beagh in the quarter-final and needed a replay, but have the momentum to get past the title winners of three years ago and book a date against All-Ireland champions Portumna.

Ulster SFC First Round

Cavan Gaels (Cavan) v St Gall's (Antrim), Breffni Park, 3.30pm– A year ago, Cavan Gaels surprised the Belfast side who were unable to translate their chances into scores. The addition of Rory Gallagher has added more firepower to the Gall's attack and the Antrim champions, with the experience of last year to instruct and motivate, can turn the tables.

Connacht SFC First Round Tourlestrane (Sligo) v St Kevin's Castlerea (Roscommon), Markievicz Park, 2.30pm– Tourlestrane survived a dogfight with Eastern Shamrocks in the county final, but have a really good opportunity here to advance against back-to-back Roscommon champions Castlerea.
