WATERFORD HURLER Eoin Kelly is in danger of missing the opening Munster championship fixture with Clare on June 1st after breaking a bone in his hand during a club match between Passage and Lismore, reports Seán Moran.
Current All Star Tony Browne is another concern. There had been speculation that because of a difference of opinion with his club Mount Sion Browne was considering retirement. In the event he was brought on at half-time in the club's defeat by Abbeyside only to get a straight red card within a minute.
Should the referee report the offence as dangerous play the suspension wouldn't keep him out of the Clare match. Were he to be reported for striking, however, the prescribed three-month ban would apply at intercounty level as well and revive doubts about his future.
Eoin Murphy is also out for the Clare match after breaking an arm in training recently.
