The spirit of Arthur Daley is alive and well and selling his wares outside a championship/concert venue near you. The vagaries of the championship structure can be precarious for the entrepreneurs of the unofficial merchandising business.
Take Waterford, for example. Turfed out by Limerick down in Pairc Ui Chaoimh only yesterday week, it left a surplus of scarves in hawkers' hands. As you can see from the pictures above, it took them only six days to find another use. Destiny's Child played the Point on Saturday night and their handle was printed on the reverse side. They were yours for only £3 - two pounds if you copped the Waterford writing and GAA logo on the other side before purchase ("Why do you think they're so cheap, missus").
The consequences? Well, for Dubs Molly, Caitlin and Sadhbh, it's time to become Waterford hurling fans by day, Independent women by night.
