Spanish club Malaga have said they have not received an official bid for their defender Fernando Sanz according to the club's president Serafin Roldan.
But Roldan admitted Manchester United were among several clubs to inquire through a third party about the 27-year-old, who is contracted until June 2003. Sanz arrived at Malaga in the 1999-2000 season after four years at Real Madrid. Roldan admitted the club would be hard pressed to hang on to the player if they receive a suitable offer.
Leeds defender Dominic Matteo could be out for up to three weeks after having an operation on a persistent knee problem.
The 27-year-old Scotland international had his knee flushed out on Monday night in a bid to sort out the problem.
However, the club hope Matteo may be fit enough to return for the game against Sunderland on November 18th.
English Second Division side Oldham Athletic are set to unveil their new coach this morning. The club sacked Andy Ritchie last week.
