Manchester United are set to sign two Norwegian internationals in a deal that will cost almost £3 million. Striker Ole Gunnar Solskjar plays for Molde, who are currently third in the Norwegian Elite Division, while central defender Ronny Johnsen plays with Turkish side Besiktas.
Solskar signing will come as no surprise as United had already bid £1 million for the front man, but Johnsen's signing is a surprise despite the fact that he was the Norwegian league's most expensive aquisition.
David Pleat yesterday began to lay the foundations for his rebuilding programme at Sheffield Wednesday by splashing out £2.75 million to land prolific 22-year-old striker Andy Booth from Huddersfield.
